WELCOME TO THE OIL MACHINE

As we go to more extreme lengths to fulfill the global demand for oil, the path to satisfaction becomes much more costly—and more treacherous. Amidst a worldwide struggle to cut emissions and phase out oil based products, a younger generation of climate activists seeks to confront the stranglehold oil has on the world economy. With a diverse cast of voices ranging from climate advocates to Big Oil executives, THE OIL MACHINE reveals the impediments to a rapid global transition to renewables.

MEDITATIONS IN THE WILD

In this contemplative quest through Grand Teton National Park, humans and other animals reunite in an inspired collaboration between filmmaker Emma Davie (THE OIL MACHINE) and philosopher David Abram ("The Spell of the Sensuous"). To Abram, the wild is more than a subject of observation; it's a fertile pool of wisdom waiting to be rediscovered. See the world through new eyes in BECOMING ANIMAL, a perspective-shifting journey into the so-called natural world.

THE POWER OF INDIGENOUS ART

Witness the power of Robert Davidson's 14,000 year old Haida culture in HAIDA MODERN. Through the life and work of a Haida artist and cultural icon, discover how Indigenous activists lead critical battles for environmental justice. Emboldened by the enduring culture of the Haida people, Davidson's stunning art and bold activism renews our connection with the natural world and each other.

WORKING CLASS WARRIORS

Explore the diverse world of worker-owned cooperatives in the Cincinnati network known as Coop-Cincy.  These trailblazers are converting existing businesses into full-fledged worker-owned cooperatives, showing the world that the working class doesn't need to settle for less. Take a look into a city full of economic justice and solidarity, a city that WORKS FOR ALL

REVIVING DEAD SOIL

Concrete and asphalt cover once biodiverse landscapes that could regulate the Earth's temperature. How can we reverse this destructive path fueled by shortsighted greed? In an ecological and solution-oriented approach to the climate crisis, REGENERATING LIFE centers on restoring the Earth's ability to self-regulate. Celebrate the farmers, scientists, and activists fighting to restore the biosphere and give the reins back to Mother Nature.

DECONSTRUCTED ART

In a junkyard, in the middle of what was once one of the world's richest salmon streams, famed Haida Manga artist Michael Nicoll Yahgulanaas found automobile hoods. To some, these would be scrap. To him, they were a vessel with which he could confront the boundaries between contemporary and so-called "Native Art." MEDDLE is available now in a double-feature bundled with GYAANGEE.

VOICES OF THE SILENCED

In this sequel to the award-winning film HAIDA MODERN, master carver Robert Davidson juxtaposes an old work, one memorializing the wrongs his people suffered at the hands of colonizers, with a new work, one celebrating the cultural and political reawakening of the Indigenous peoples of the world. Through the eyes and artwork of this leading figure in the renaissance of Haida art and culture, witness the extraordinary beauty of Davidson's masterful carvings as he captures the essence of Haida histories. GYAANGEE is available now in a double-feature bundled with MEDDLE.

These films are available both virtually and for in-person events. For more information on booking a virtual screening right now, please go to Bullfrog Communities Streaming.

THE OIL MACHINE
Our economic, historical and emotional entanglement with oil gets ever more complex as we hurtle towards climate catastrophe. Can we break our addiction?
"THE OIL MACHINE reveals in stunning imagery and trenchant commentary just how dangerous and irrational our collective addiction to oil is. This film is a valuable teaching tool to prepare the next generation of climate advocates and community activists for the battle to secure their future." Patrick Parenteau, Professor of Law Emeritus
