ORGANIZATIONS

3 Cricketeers - When Chad and Claire’s son came home with a cricket cookie on Earth Day, he realized entomophagy could play a significant role in healing our planet and he wanted to become a part of the movement. After talking Claire into setting up a cricket habitat in their home’s basement, they all jumped on board including their three boys. 3 Cricketeers was born!

The Sioux Chef - The Sioux Chef is committed to revitalizing Native American Cuisine and in the process they are re-identifying North American Cuisine and reclaiming an important culinary culture long buried and often inaccessible.

Vertical Harvest - Vertical Harvest energizes local food systems via hydroponic, vertical, controlled environmental agriculture (CEA) to deliver healthier food and futures. We work with communities to develop underutilized space in urban, underserved neighborhoods, grow “up” on a fraction of the land required by traditional agriculture, while using 85% less water to deliver our produce at peak flavor and nutrition, year-round.

Atlantic Sea Farms - Their founders created the first commercially viable seaweed farm in the United States in 2009, with the goal of diversifying how our coastal waters are used and providing a domestic, fresh, healthy alternative to imported seaweed products. Now, more than ever, we need food sources that can positively impact the economic and environmental health of our coastal communities.

Food Rescue Hero - Focusing on the complex and variable dynamics of retail food recovery, Food Rescue Hero automates the time-consuming tasks to coordinate operations seamlessly. The app alerts volunteer drivers about surplus food nearby and guides each donation pick up and delivery, every step of the way. Since 2016, Food Rescue Hero has coordinated more than 137 million pounds of perfectly good food from getting wasted and redirected to the people who need it.

The Story Exchange - Co-Founded by Sue Williams, Director and Producer of FIXING FOODThe Story Exchange is an award-winning nonprofit media organization dedicated to elevating women’s voices. Through videos, articles and a podcast, they strive to provide inspiration and information to entrepreneurial women everywhere.
